A downloadable game for Windows

note: please read the controls section

studio system is a "horror" game that allows you to use the camera as a weapon in fixed camera angles.

this is a demo that is not tied to anything "full" - if anything this is just a proof of concept, i wanted to "find the fun" before i did anything too complicated. please let me know what you think if you can. i highly doubt that there will ever be a "full version" of this game, but let me know if you want to see one as well..

please keep in mind that this demo is unrefined in some areas

the approximate time to completion is 25-30 minutes (this is if you know what you're doing)

controls

wasd - movement (tank controls)
right click - enable camera

left click - attack (with bat and camera) / investigate

tapping the E key twice quickly turns you around

escape key opens up your inventory, clicking on the health item automatically heals one point of health (out of 3 health points)

Really neat game! I managed to beat it without using the camera, lol. I like the overall vibe to it, the spinning platform was the only part, that I didn't like. Looking forward to more!

This was a really fun concept. I really like the use of the camera to shoot the monsters. Keep up the great work!

really cool game. i love everything about its presentation. the artstyle is pretty and cute while being dark and gritty, the low poly look of the actual game is nice, also i loved the surreal setting. and the sound design was nice as well, especially in the last level. the only issues i had with how it looked and sounded was that some of the animations were a bit stiff (although i guess that sort of adds to the early 3d game feel it's going for), and some of the sound effects stood out a bit too much, like the footsteps, maybe look into adding a few more footstep sounds so they don't get too repetitive.
moving the fixed camera around and using it as a weapon seems like a cool idea, but i feel like there's never actually any reason to use it since the baseball bat is so op, and you have such a small amount of ammo. maybe a good way to balance that would be getting rid of the bat entirely, and making ammo slightly more plentiful, but not so much as to where you can gun everything down. platforming sections in a fixed camera tank control game were a really neat idea and surprisingly not as annoying as i would have thought they'd have been, but a lot of them had really awful camera angles which made avoiding the bullets pretty much impossible, which wasn't much of an issue since i could just facetank it with all the healing items, but i doubt that was the intended way to play it. seems like an easy issue to fix though. also the writing felt a bit hard to follow at times, but that might have also been just me playing it while sleep deprived.
whether you decide to make this into a full game or not, i enjoyed playing through it, and i'd love to see whatever you decide to make next

cool

Hi there, I am DragonExplosion and I am a Youtuber. If you like my videos, please leave a like and subscribe at my channel.

The perspective of the player in the game really made the game more horrifying and difficult overall. I liked the design of the characters and levels but I would prefer if there was more storytelling at the start of the game so that it would be more interesting since we would know more about the background of the main characters of the game. I didn't realise there was an inventory menu until I died on the third level where I went to read the controls XD. It would be cool if there was mentioning of the controls at the start of the game or the controls being taught to the player while playing the game.

The third level appears to be really difficult especially due to the camera controls and movement in general so it would be cool if there was actually unlimited tries for that level in the demo XD. I was quite sad when I was faced with a black screen after trying the level twice since I would have to play the entire demo again just to try that level again. A larger variety of monsters could have been added to the game too to add variety into the game.

Overall, I liked the design of the characters in the game and the artstyle of the game but the game definitely can use more polishing and addition of more storytelling and interesting objects/decorations around the different levels.

Thank you for reading my comment and I wish you good luck in your future endeavours.

thank you for giving the game a shot!! i ended up uploading a patched version of the game that fixes the black screen issue, it was an oversight on my end. if there is a full game, those issues you described will be addressed. once again, thank you

Loved it. Loved the art style. Loved the controls. Loved the mechanics. Sound maybe needs some work. I also fell off the map at the end and, well, that was that! Can't wait to see a full release!

i am glad that you enjoyed the demo! the part with a black screen at the end is a bug and i made a quick patch to address it, thank you once again for playing it!!
